Job summary

Viper Water Solutions, part of the Hollimans Group, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join the Hughenden, QLD team. The role focuses on maintaining and diagnosing mechanical systems used in farming, mining, and irrigation projects.

You will analyse performance graphs, test and service equipment, dismantle and rebuild machinery, install new components, and maintain records. A degree/diploma in mechanical engineering and at least 3 years extrusion technician experience are

• Degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years experience as an Extrusion Technician.
• OH&S awareness.

Responsibilities

• Analyse performance graphs to verify functionality per specifications.
• Test mechanical equipment and coordinate inspections/maintenance.
• Dismantle defective machines and components for repair.
• Reassemble and adjust machines after repair/testing.
• Maintain maintenance records and follow procedures.
• Install equipment, wiring, and programs to spec.
• Repair and service a wide range of machinery.
• Select tools for assembling and installing mechanical systems.
• Ensure work stays within specifications, costs and timeframes.

Job description

Viper Water Solutions (part of Hollimans Group) manufacture & supply high quality polythene pipe and related products for farms, cattle stations, mines, irrigation & development projects. The Company is currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their team in Hughenden QLD.

• Analyse and assess performance graphs to ensure functionality and diagnosis is in accordance with manufacturing specifications
• Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper function and identify faults by organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant equipment
• Dismantle defective machine and components for repairs
• Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operations and make adjustments
• Maintain maintenance records and adhere to work procedures and workplace policies
• Installing equipment, machines, wiring or programs to meet specifications
• Repairing, servicing and maintaining a wide variety of equipment and machinery
• Selecting correct tools and equipment for the assembling and installing of new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine, tools and controls and hydraulic power systems.
• Ensuring works are within specifications and regulations including material costing’s, quantities, machine requirements and timeframe.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ideally have a Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Extrusion Technician
• Professional, confident and positive approach to work
• OH&S awareness

Salary range is $70,000 - $85,000pa commensurate with experience
