The role is a remote hourly contract requiring a Master’s or PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or closely related fields, with strong math and clear technical communication. Collaborate with leading AI labs and contribute to high-quality benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a Master’s or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.
• Strong foundations in solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM or manufacturing processes.
• Able to communicate complex physical phenomena and derivations clearly in writing.
• Meticulous attention to detail in mathematical derivations, unit conversions and constraints.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced mechanical scenarios across FEA, heat transfer, kinematics, thermodynamics and materials to stress-test AI reasoning.
• Author rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning and evaluation.
• Audit AI outputs: evaluate AI-generated CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specs for accuracy and safety.
• Sharpen AI reasoning by identifying and correcting flawed energy and force reasoning, providing structured feedback.

Your deep domain knowledge will directly shape how AI reasons through complex engineering problems, from fluid dynamics to structural mechanics. What You'll Do

• Design Challenging Problems - Craft advanced mechanical engineering scenarios across FEA, heat transfer, kinematics, thermodynamics, and material science to stress-test AI reasoning
• Author Gold-Standard Solutions - Develop rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning and evaluation
• Audit AI Outputs - Evaluate AI-generated CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for technical accuracy, safety, and adherence to standards such as ASME and ISO
• Sharpen AI Reasoning - Identify flaws in AI-generated reasoning - such as incorrect force distributions or energy conservation violations - and provide structured feedback to improve model performance

Who You Are

• Pursuing or holding a Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field
• Strong foundational expertise in one or more core areas: solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes
• Able to communicate complex physical phenomena and technical derivations clearly in written form
• Meticulous attention to detail - especially around mathematical derivations, unit conversions, and physical system constraints
• No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

• Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or technical review workflows
• Familiarity with engineering software such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, or ANSYS
• Background in applied research or academic publishing
