Job summary

KBR Careers in Sydney, Australia, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support through-life asset management and complex engineering tasks for Defence programs. You will provide SME guidance on mechanical systems, collaborate across teams, and ensure safety and compliance throughout project lifecycles.

The ideal candidate brings a Bachelor of Engineering, Chartered Engineer status, and eligibility for Baseline Defence Clearance, with DoD and marine design experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent from a recognised Engineering discipline.
• Hold, or be eligible for, membership of a recognised professional body and registration as Chartered Engineer.
• Eligible for Baseline Defence Security Clearance for ship systems (Australia DoD).
• ITAR clearance eligibility for relevant Defence programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide Mechanical Engineering SME guidance to support PBS assets and associated systems.
• Develop tasking statements and review engineering deliverables under supervision.
• Ensure compliance with policy, plans, processes and the Navy Seaworthiness framework.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to address complex technical challenges.
