Job summary

Bega Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Reliability Team at our Wetherill Park site in Sydney. You will drive packaging equipment direction, lead improvement projects, and collaborate with maintenance and production to enable data-driven decisions for efficient operations.

Reporting to the site leader, you will champion continuous improvement, support HACCP and safety plans, and mentor staff while delivering capital and NPD projects aligned with industry best practices.

The Role

An opportunity currently exists for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Reliability Team based in our Wetherill Park Site, the home of Dare Iced Coffee, Dairy Farmers, Farmers Union, and Big M.

Our Wetherill Park site in Sydney is our Milk Based Beverages (MMB) hub for the eastern seaboard. The site manufactures both Fresh and Extended Shelf-Life products, including our short pack format MBB and Ultra Heat Treated (UHT) long-life unrefrigerated milk. This state-of-the-art facility has benefited from past and ongoing large-scale investment and produces 75 million litres of some of Australia's most loved dairy products including Dare Iced Coffee, Dairy Farmers, Farmers Union, and Big M.

Reporting to the site leader, the Mechanical Engineer will Plan the strategic direction for Packaging equipment & Continuous Improvement on-site, in line with current industry best practices. You will Instigate and lead improvement projects in data acquisition that deliver information suitable for crucial business decisions.

Responsibilities

Deliver the Implementation site engineering, capital, and NPD projects and ensure project deliverables are met including, safety, cost, quality, and benefits.

Identify and provide solutions for process improvement opportunities to enable the goal of continuous improvement of our operations.

Mentor and provide technical expertise to the maintenance and production staff

Lead and support continuous improvement and ad-hoc projects

Support and assist in the development of HACCP, Safety, and Environmental plans

About you

Experience working in an FMCG manufacturing environment
