Job summary

RCR Mining Technologies, a unit of NRW Holdings, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Bunbury head office. You will design and develop mechanical plant for bulk materials handling, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and client specs.

You will collaborate with multiple teams, deliver on the full project lifecycle from tender to detailed design, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years experience in a mechanical design engineering role.
• Demonstrated FEA competency (ANSYS, Nastran and/or Strand7).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Strong understanding of engineering processes and quality systems.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Apply Safety in Design principles.

RCR Mining Technologies (RCRMT), a leadingbusiness unit of NRW Holdings, is seeking aMechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering team based atour Head Office in Bunbury.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver robust engineeringsolutions for clients across Australia and internationally, workingon complex mechanical plant and equipment within the bulk materialshandling sector.

About the Role

Reporting to the Discipline Manager – Mechanical Engineering,you will be responsible for the design, development, verificationand validation of mechanical plant and equipment in line withAustralian Standards and statutory requirements.

You will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, draftingteams, project delivery and commercial stakeholders to ensurehigh-quality, compliant and practical engineering outcomes.

This role offers exposure across the full project lifecycle —from tender support through to detailed design, verification andproject delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering and detailed design scopes of work
• Perform and verify designs using FEA (ANSYS, Nastran,Strand7), first principles calculations and best practiceengineering methods
• Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards andclient specifications
• Apply Safety in Design principles

• Issue and respond to Technical Queries andNon-Conformances

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a mechanical designengineering role
• Strong mechanical design capability within heavyindustry
• Demonstrated FEA competency (ANSYS, Nastran and/orStrand7)
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineeringdocumentation
• Strong understanding of engineering processes and qualitysystems
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to manage competing deadlines in a dynamicenvironment

Highly regarded:

• Experience in bulk materials handling or machinedesign
• Mining or resources sector experience
• Autodesk Inventor proficiency
• Tendering and estimating exposure
• Working toward CPEng or RPEng
