Job summary

RV World Canberra is expanding and seeks an experienced Mechanic or Automotive Technician to join our workshop team. No caravan experience required — we will train you in the RV side of the industry.

Mon-Fri 8:00am to 4:30pm, with no weekends or on-call shifts. You'll diagnose, repair and service caravans and motorhomes, including mechanical components, suspension, brakes and running gear, plus fault-finding across electrical, gas, water and appliance systems.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate is advantageous.
• Experience with caravans or heavy vehicles is welcome.
• Strong trade skills and a good work ethic are valued.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and service caravans and motorhomes.
• Perform mechanical component repairs and installations.
• Inspect suspension, braking, and running gear systems; fault-find electrical, gas, water and appliance systems.
• Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on new caravans; install accessories like solar, batteries and upgrades.

No caravan experience required — we'll train you in the RV side of the industry.

What You'll Be Doing

Using your mechanical skills to diagnose, repair and service caravans and motorhomes, including:

Mechanical component repairs and installations

Suspension, braking systems and running gear

Fault-finding across electrical, gas, water and appliance systems

Completing Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on new caravans

Installing accessories such as solar, batteries, inverters and upgrades

Working from clear job cards in a clean, organised workshop

You'll start with work aligned to your trade and can expand your skills into other areas of the RV industry if you want.

We're keen to hear from:

• Diesel mechanics or trailer technicians
• Mechanics looking for a lifestyle change from dealerships
• Trade certificate qualification is an advantage.

Caravan experience is not required — strong trade skills and a good work ethic are what matter most.
