Job summary

Kennards Hire is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Penrith to service and repair diesel and petrol powered equipment, ensuring reliability and readiness for hire. You'll perform on-site servicing and maintain documentation in line with Ready for Hire standards.

Ideally you have a trade qualification and 3+ years of field experience, with strong communication, time management, and the ability to use computers and mobile devices to process tasks. A valid driver's licence is required.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified in diesel/mechanical trades (diesel mechanic, diesel fitter, light vehicle mechanic, small engine mechanic, electrician or similar).
• At least 3 years' experience in the field.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and able to work as part of a team or autonomously.
• Strong time management and ability to plan ahead and reschedule as priorities change.
• Good communication, ability to follow directions and proactively inform teammates.
• Comfortable using computers and mobile devices for email, internet and basic transactions.
• Physically fit to meet role requirements and hold a valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance/repair of a range of diesel and petrol powered equipment to exacting standards.
• Repair and maintain equipment to ensure reliability for customers.
• Perform servicing on customer sites and document maintenance per Kennards Ready for Hire standards.
• Prepare all required servicing documentation for compliance and record keeping.

About the role

• The Maintenance Mechanic provides customers with an exceptional level of service through maintenance/repair of a range of diesel and petrol powered equipment to exacting standards
• Repair and maintain equipment (primarily petrol/gasoline and diesel engine equipment) to required standards so as to ensure our customers receive reliable and fit for-purpose plant and equipment.
• Perform servicing maintenance on the customer site as required, and documentation to render equipment serviceable in accordance with Kennards "Ready for Hire"
  Quality Operational Management (QOM) standards
• Prepare all required documentation for all servicing and maintenance performed for compliance record keeping

About you

• Trade qualified. This may be as a diesel mechanic, diesel fitter, light vehicle mechanic, small engine mechanic, electrician, or similar trades.
• At least 3 years' experience in the field
• A proven ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and work conditions including the ability to both work as part of a team and to work autonomously to complete tasks within required timeframes
• Time management skills including the ability to plan ahead and reschedule in accordance with changes in priorities
• Strong communication skills including the ability to follow directions, ask questions to ensure understanding, and proactively provide information to team members
• The ability to confidently use computers and mobile devices for email, internet and basic transactional processing.
• A level of physical fitness as required to complete role requirements
• A valid drivers' licence
