Job summary

Origin Meat, a Sydney-based meat business, is hiring for a hands-on factory role in a chilled environment. You will be trained to operate Marel i-Cut and ULMA thermoforming lines, ensuring accurate portioning, labelling and packaging to meet quality and food-safety standards.

The role runs Tuesday to Saturday with a guaranteed 45 hours per week, offering competitive pay based on experience and strong team support in a moving production facility.

Qualifications

• Experience operating food-processing machinery.
• Knowledge of portion-cutting or thermoforming equipment is advantageous.
• Marel i-Cut or ULMA experience is a plus.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, chilled production environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Marel i-Cut portion-cutting machine (training provided).
• Load products and select correct cutting programs.
• Monitor portion weights, yield and cutting accuracy.
• Make machine adjustments to meet product specifications.
• Operate the ULMA thermoformer packaging line (training provided).
• Load meat into packs neatly and at production speed.
• Check seals, vacuum quality, presentation, labels and use-by dates.
• Complete product changeovers and basic machine adjustments.
• Follow daily schedules and product specifications.
• Identify and report equipment or production issues.

Job description

This is a hands-on factory role responsible for operating our Marel i-Cut portion-cutting machine and ULMA thermoforming packaging line which you will be fully trained on. You will help ensure meat products are accurately portioned, packed, labelled and produced to our quality and food-safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate the Marel i-Cut portion-cutting machine (full training)
• Load products and select the correct cutting programs

• Make machine adjustments to meet product specifications
• Operate the ULMA thermoformer packaging line (full training)
• Load meat into packs neatly and at the required production speed

About you

• Previous experience operating food-processing or meat-processing machinery
• Experience with portion-cutting or thermoforming equipment is highly regarded
• Marel i-Cut or ULMA thermoformer experience would be a major advantage
• Able to work accurately in a fast-paced, chilled production environment
• Strong understanding of portion control, product quality and presentation
• Mechanically minded and comfortable making basic machine adjustments
• Reliable, punctual and physically capable of performing factory duties
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Knowledge of HACCP and food-safety requirements
