Job summary

Meatco Australia in Mildura, Victoria, is seeking an AAO Meat Inspector to uphold meat safety, quality and regulatory standards at our processing facility. You will conduct inspections, maintain records, liaise with government agencies and staff, and support continuous improvement in inspection processes while working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or higher in Meat Processing (Meat Safety).
• Experience in ovine inspection is essential.
• Able to pass National Police Check and Drug and Alcohol Test.
• Sound knowledge of meat inspection procedures and food safety regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct meat inspections in accordance with the AAO Deed of Obligation and regulatory requirements.
• Perform AAO duties in line with guidelines, procedures and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and compliance documentation.
• Liaise with government agencies and veterinary professionals to address findings.
• Identify and report food safety and regulatory compliance concerns.
• Ensure inspections align with food safety, WHS and operational procedures.
• Support continuous improvement in meat inspection processes and compliance standards.
