The Role
Make a difference in our community!

You will be a compassionate and dedicated MCH Nurse who enjoys making a positive impact through the provision of a flexible and responsive service to families with young children from birth to school age.

In this role you will:

  • Provide the Victorian maternal and child health service program using a family centred partnership approach, in accordance with the MCH service program guidelines, standards, and legislation.
  • Facilitate group work, including new parent groups, drop-in programs, and group-based initiatives
  • Support and participate in the student clinical placement program within the MCH Service.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience and skills:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Division 1 Registered nurse and midwife.
  • Hold Postgraduate qualifications in Child Family and Community Health - Maternal Child Health Nursing
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills, to provide an evidence-based and inclusive Victorian Maternal and Child Health program, to our diverse range of families with young children from birth to school age.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of primary health care, health promotion and an understanding of early intervention.
  • A commitment to the provision of a quality service and continuous improvement.
  • Well-developed communication skills including interpersonal, written skills and ability to engage with diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Child Information Sharing Schemes and Family Violence Information Sharing Schemes, MARAM and Child Safe Standards.
