Job summary

South West Healthcare is seeking a Breast Care Nurse to provide clinical expertise, guidance, advocacy, education and support in breast cancer management for patients across the South-West region.

Role requires oncology experience, RN registration with AHPRA; postgraduate qualifications in Breast Cancer Nursing are highly desirable. The position also includes leave coverage opportunities in the Cancer Services team.

• Employment: Part-time (16 hours per fortnight), Fixed-term position until February 2027
• In addition, there are also opportunities to provide leave coverage within the SWH Cancer Services team as required
• Location: Warrnambool Campus
• Classification: Clinical Nurse Consultant C
• Salary range: $134,498 - $137,696.00 pro rata, plus superannuation

About the role

SWH is seeking a dynamic Breast Care Nurse to provide clinical expertise, guidance, advocacy, education and support in the management of breast cancer for patients across the South-West region. Supported by the McGrath Foundation, this role is responsible for collaborating with members of the multidisciplinary care team and relevant community service providers to coordinate the delivery of patient-centred, specialised support services across the care continuum, to patients and their families.

What you bring

The successful applicant will demonstrate prior experience working in Oncology or relevant areas and have basic knowledge of chemotherapy treatments and radiotherapy treatments. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical skill together with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Applicants must hold current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, post graduate qualifications relevant to Breast Cancer Nursing or equivalent is highly desirable.
