Job summary

Programmed, on behalf of Whitehaven Coal, seeks experienced MC/HC truck drivers for local haul in the Gunnedah Basin. You will operate A-Double side tipper combinations with a focus on safety and reliability, transporting coal between sites with a team of professionals.

Roles offer day and afternoon shifts, on-site work with modern heavy vehicles, overtime opportunities and upskilling potential to progress from HC to MC licence where needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold HC or MC driver licence.
• Current RMS driving record.
• Ability to pass NSW Coal Board Medical and related evaluations.
• Ability to pass police checks and online inductions.

Responsibilities

• Operate A-Double side tipper safely and efficiently.
• Complete pre-start inspections and required documentation.
• Follow site safety procedures at all times.
• Collaborate with site personnel to maintain operations.
• Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure high standards.

Programmed Skilled Workforce is currently recruiting experienced MC Truck Drivers to join our client, Whitehaven Coal, operating within the Gunnedah Basin.

About the Role

Working as part of a professional transport team, you will be responsible for safely transporting coal between site operations to Gunnedah CHPP using A-Double side tippers. This is a dedicated local haul within the Gunnedah Basin, offering consistent workloads and reliable hours without long distance travel.

Available shift options include:

• Day Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm
• Afternoon Shift: 2:00pm - midnight

Key Responsibilities

• Operate A-Double side tipper combinations safely and efficiently
• Complete pre-start inspections and required compliance documentation
• Follow site procedures and safety standards at all times
• Work collaboratively with site personnel to maintain efficient operations
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high operational standard through daily checks

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and professionalism and possess:

• Current HC/MC Driver Licence
• Current RMS Driving Record
• Ability to pass NSW Coal Board Medical, Functional Capacity Evaluation including drug and alcohol testing
• Able to complete police check and complete online inductions
• Excellent driving history and safety awareness
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Previous heavy vehicle driving experience
• Side tipper or rear tipper experience (preferred, however training can be provided)

Applicants should either reside in the Gunnedah region or be willing to relocate for this opportunity.
