Job summary

Freshwater Christian College in Far North Queensland seeks a qualified Secondary Mathematics Science Teacher for a full-time role starting January 2027. You will teach Mathematics and Science across secondary years, align lessons to the Australian Curriculum, and integrate Christian faith into classroom planning and school culture.

The role requires a teaching qualification, QCT registration or eligibility, and a commitment to the College’s faith-based values.

Qualifications

We are seeking a qualified Secondary Mathematics Science Teacher to join our secondary team full-time, commencing January 2027.

About the Role

As a Mathematics Science Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons in Mathematics and Science across secondary year levels
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with the Australian Curriculum
• Integrate a Christian worldview and biblical values into curriculum planning and classroom culture
• Support students’ pastoral care and wellbeing
• Contribute to co-curricular life through school events and activities
  Collaborate with a supportive team of educators committed to whole-person education

Essential criteria:

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in teaching.
• Queensland College of Teachers Registration (or the ability to obtain).
• Be fully aligned with the values, virtues, and Christian beliefs of Freshwater Christian College.
• Able to affirm the College’s Statement of Faith.
• Able to comply with College policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and training requirements, including those related to work health and safety, risk management, child protection, and confidentiality.
• Able to work with all members of the College community.
• A willingness to assist in extracurricular activities after normal working hours.
• Be legally permitted to work in Australia.
