Job summary

Pedare Christian College invites applications for an experienced Mathematics and Science Teacher (Years 9–11) on a 0.6 FTE contract for Term 1, 2027, based at Golden Grove.

The successful candidate will design lessons aligned with ACARA/SACE, assess and provide feedback, foster an inclusive classroom, and contribute to pastoral care while collaborating with a dedicated team.

Experience in middle and senior school and willingness to teach across curriculum areas is valued.

Qualifications

• Current South Australian WWCC is required.
• RRHAN certificate current and valid.
• Teacher Registration Certificate in SA current.
• First Aid and CPR certificate preferred; transcripts and degrees supplied.
• Disclosure of information relevant to working with children.

Responsibilities

About Pedare

Catering for almost 1,200 students from Reception to Year 12, Pedare is an independent, co-educational Anglican and Uniting Church day school founded in 1986, situated at Golden Grove in the north-east of Adelaide.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic Mathematics and Science Teacher (Years 9–11) to join our collaborative team on a 0.6 FTE contract for Term 1, 2027.

The Role

• Designing and implementing engaging lesson objectives and programs aligned with ACARA and SACE guidelines.
• Creating effective assessment tasks, providing prompt and constructive feedback to students, and maintaining accurate grading records.
• Fostering a trusting, caring, and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to reach their full potential.
• Balancing rigorous academic instruction with strong pastoral care, actively promoting student welfare and wellbeing.
• Staying up-to-date with current pedagogy, educational trends, and subject-matter developments.
• Proven experience teaching Mathematics and Science at the Middle and Senior School level.
• A deep understanding of the ACARA and SACE curriculum and modern pedagogical practices.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to relate exceptionally well to young people.
• A collaborative spirit, ready to work seamlessly within a dedicated teaching team.
• The flexibility to participate in occasional out-of-hours school requirements.
• The ability or willingness to teach in other curriculum areas is highly regarded.

What We Need

• A current South Australian Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• A current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN) certificate
• A current Teacher Registration Certificate in South Australia
• First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferred)Academic Transcripts and Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates
