Job summary

Pedare invites applications for several Upper Primary Teacher positions for 2027 on a 1.0 FTE, 12-month contract. You will report to the Head of School and be dedicated to inspiring and engaging students throughout their learning journey.

The role requires thorough knowledge of the Australian curriculum, experience with Guided Inquiry, and a commitment to pastoral care and student wellbeing. Some after-hours involvement and extra-curricular participation are expected.

Qualifications

• Current South Australian WWCC.
• RRHAN certificate.
• Current Teacher Registration in SA.
• First Aid and CPR certificates preferred.
• Academic transcripts and relevant degrees/certificates.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons aligned to the Australian curriculum and course objectives.
• Set programmes and lesson objectives based on the Australian curriculum.
• Demonstrate understanding of Guided Inquiry in teaching.
• Provide feedback to students to help fulfil their potential.
• Maintain classroom discipline to foster productive work habits.
• Record marks and results for student assessments accurately.
• Promote pastoral care and the wellbeing of students.
• Engage in extra-curricular activities when required.
• Some out-of-hours work may be needed.

Educating almost 1,200 students from Reception to Year 12, Pedare is an independent, co-educational Anglican and Uniting Church day school founded in 1986, situated at Golden Grove in the north-east of Adelaide.

The Opportunity:

We're looking for several passionate and motivated Upper Primary Teachers to join our team for the 2027 school year on a 1.0 FTE, 12-month contract. You'll report to the Head of School and be dedicated to inspiring and engaging students throughout their learning journey.

The role:

• Have thorough knowledge of the subject matter to enable the course objectives to be taught
• Set programmes and lesson objectives based on the Australian curriculum
• Understanding of and experience in Guided Inquiry
• Give feedback to students, encourage and involve students in class to enable them to fulfil their potential
• Maintain control of class discipline to create appropriate work habits
• Use appropriate assessment items and accurately record all marks and results for student assessment
• Promote a trusting and caring approach within the classroom
• Ability to relate well to students, recognising both the pastoral and educative aspects of the student-teacher relationship
• Maintain an interest in the welfare of students and promote the wellbeing of students
• Some out of hours may be required due to role requirements
• Willingness to participate in extra curricular is required

What we need:

• A current South Australian Working With Children Check (WWCC)
• Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN) certificate
• Current Teacher Registration Certificate in South Australia
• First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferred)
• Academic Transcripts and Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates, Statements of Service
