Job summary

St Albans Secondary College in Melbourne seeks a Classroom Teacher - Mathematics/VCE VM Numeracy to deliver high-quality curriculum aligned with state standards. The role focuses on planning, preparation and teaching across Year 7–12 programs, including SEAL and VCE subjects, with emphasis on numeracy.

The successful candidate will demonstrate curriculum expertise, collaborate with staff, and contribute to student wellbeing and engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience in planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and colleagues.
• Commitment to professional learning and reflective practice to improve teaching quality.
• Eligibility for Victorian teacher registration and meeting LANTITE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other program.
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the Principal.
• Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
