Competitive Salary: $61.56 -$63.19 p/hr + 6.5% allowance + 12% superannuation
Location: Across all Bayside MCH centres,the Corporate Centre and hybrid as required to meet service need

About the Role:

As a Maternal and Child Health (MCH) nurse at Bayside you will be passionate about delivering Victoria’s MCH service, inclusive of the Universal and Enhanced programs, to children from birth to school age and their families, within the Bayside community, focusing on promotion of health and development, prevention, early detection of, and intervention for physical, emotional, and social factors affecting young children and their families.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Current registration with APHRA as a Registered Nurse Division 1, Registered Midwife and hold a tertiary qualification in Child, Family & Community Health (or equivalent) that are recognised in Victoria.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Maternal & Child Health (MCH) evidence- based practice including up-to-date theoretical andpractical knowledge of women’s health, family and child health and development, and relevant community resources; and knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and its application to MCH practice and related programs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a positive and enjoyable workplace culture that promotes universal access and participation, responsive service delivery and culturally competent service to optimise the health and wellbeing outcomes for the child, their parent and family.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ensuring service delivery is a quality and safe service ensuring a high level of care is provided to families and children.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team. Ability to exercise independence in day-to-day decision-making related to the delivery of the MCH service.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to effectively deal with sensitive issues.

Mandatory pre-employment requirements:

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
  • Current registration with APHRA as a Registered Nurse Division 1, Registered Midwife and hold a tertiary qualification in Child, Family & Community Health (or equivalent) that are recognised in Victoria.
