Job summary

The Company in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Materials Engineer to join the forensic engineering team. The role is based in the Northern Suburbs of Brisbane and involves regular regional travel to Queensland and Northern NSW.

You will diagnose problems, provide solutions, and work on a variety of projects across multiple industries. Reporting to the General Manager Engineering, you will conduct forensic and failure investigations, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to expert

Qualifications

• Undergraduate qualifications in Materials Engineering or equivalent (Mandatory).
• Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in root cause analysis and/or failure analysis (Mandatory).
• Be able to travel locally and interstate to conduct inspections and on-site testing.
• Solid understanding of the principles and process of failure analysis and demonstrated critical thinking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to adapt technical knowledge to a variety of materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic engineering and failure investigations.
• Perform root cause analysis.
• Conduct fire investigations (training provided).
• Conduct specialist non-destructive testing (training provided).
• Engage with clients before, during and after job completion.
• Provide expert witness services.
• Consult with clients on materials-related topics.
• Prepare and review written reports for clients.
• Develop ongoing relationships with clients and organisations.
• Conduct on-site testing locally and interstate.
