Job summary

BG&E, now part of the SYSTRA Group, is seeking a permanent full-time engineer in its Perth office. The role focuses on materials selection, assessment and durability for major infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on site inspections and multidisciplinary coordination.

You will contribute to environmental exposure assessments, develop durability plans, and support fee proposals and project management. Flexible work arrangements and competitive remuneration are offered.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years relevant post graduate experience.
  • Practical experience in materials assessment, selection and inspection within a range of structures and environments.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Materials/Structural/Civil Engineering.

Context

The Role

BG&E's Materials team is responsible for providing technical advice for construction material selection, assessment and durability for a range of structural engineering projects. Due to continued growth and the award of exciting new projects, a permanent full-time opportunity exists in our Perth office.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Undertake condition assessments of structures consisting of concrete, steel and other materials.
  • Undertake site inspections and prepare inspection reports.

Missions/Main Duties

About you:

  • You’ll have a strong technical foundation in Materials / Civil / Structural engineering and a desire to contribute to a specialist local and national materials team where you’ll demonstrate:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Materials/Structural/Civil Engineering.
  • 3+ years relevant post graduate experience.
  • Practical experience in materials assessment, selection and inspection within a range of structures and environments.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and a willingness to learn.
