Job summary

The Centre for Advanced Microscopy (CAM) at ANU invites applications for an Materials Electron Microscopy Specialist. You will provide expert SEM advice and training to researchers, students and external users, ensuring access to high-end SEM instrumentation and analysis capabilities.

You will plan and run workshops, support multi-disciplinary projects, and manage lab equipment and performance. Strong SEM expertise and collaborative skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Extensive SEM experience with microanalysis: EDS, WDS and EBSD.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills for researchers and clients.
• Ability to plan and deliver training workshops and short courses.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and training on SEM applications (EDS, WDS, EBSD) to ANU researchers and external users.
• Lead training workshops for clients from diverse disciplines.
• Oversee laboratory operations and equipment management, including performance and maintenance.
