Overview

Dan Murphy’s and Endeavour Group are seeking a Marketing Manager - Editorial Content to lead the editorial content program for Dan’s Daily, grow its audience, and strengthen the brand as the go-to drinks destination for young Australians. The role manages a team of editors and writers, drives editorial vision and day-to-day operations, and collaborates with the eCommerce and digital teams to enhance the customer journey and content-driven engagement.

Dan’s Daily is the publishing arm of Dan Murphy’s, delivering high-quality content on drinks, culture and experiences to inform and inspire readers while supporting business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the editorial vision, strategy, and daily operations for Dan’s Daily and other digital content platforms; align content with strategy, trade plans, retail media, and SEO to meet audience and business goals.
  • Act as the guardian of tone of voice, ensuring high-quality, authentic content that balances audience resonance with commercial messages.
  • Support the Head of Brand & Content in expanding Dan’s Daily’s reach across online and offline touchpoints; develop business cases for new initiatives.
  • Grow audience and engagement by optimising amplification plans across channels.
  • Oversee retail media content partnerships, continuously improving inventory and workflows.
  • Represent the editorial brand externally, building networks in food, drinks, and culture.
  • Partner with the eCommerce team on SEO strategy to drive organic traffic and convert content to shoppable experiences.
  • Collaborate with the eCommerce and digital teams to enhance Dan’s Daily’s onsite experience based on insights.
  • Educate and gain buy-in for content’s value across the business.
  • Manage a small team, including an Editorial Content Lead and freelancers, fostering a customer-first culture.
  • Role model Dan Murphy’s values.
  • Manage contributors, partners, and the editorial budget, ensuring commercial purpose.
  • Support scaling digital content production by exploring new models.
  • Track, measure, and report content effectiveness using analytics to improve future production.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years experience in creating compelling digital content, with experience at a media publisher and/or in brand content marketing.
  • Degree in journalism, media and communications or similar.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including copy-editing and fact-checking.
  • Ability to operate effectively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Storytelling ability using words, images and video, and the capability to create content that draws an audience and drives engagement.
  • Ability to translate strategic commercial messages into content.
  • Strong skills in managing multiple internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency in writing web-friendly copy using SEO best practices.
  • Fluency with content management systems, website analytics tools and project management software (e.g. Google Sheets, Airtable, Asana).
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about drinks across categories and Gen Z/Millennial culture; understanding of trends in ecommerce, retail and food/drink industries.
  • Highly organised and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven workplace.
  • Creative flair with strategic, conceptual thinking and strong process-management and administrative precision capabilities.
  • Strong network of food and drinks industry relationships.
  • Proven experience in people leadership.
