Agri Talent in Australia is seeking a Market Development Lead to drive subsurface drip irrigation opportunities for broadacre crops. You will turn market analysis into a practical development strategy, identify priority crops and regions, and establish trials and partnerships across VIC and NSW.
This remote, field-based role offers substantial autonomy, travel across VIC/NSW, and the chance to influence the organisation's Australian irrigation strategy with support from international agronomy
Our client is a global leader in precision irrigation, with an established Australian presence spanning manufacturing, agronomy, technical support, design and sales.
Working with growers and dealers across Australia, they combine local agricultural knowledge with extensive international agronomy and irrigation expertise. With broadacre irrigation identified as a key growth market, they are investing in the people, trials and partnerships needed to expand adoption across Australian farming systems.
Reporting to the Director of Agronomy, Product and Market Development, you will lead the development of subsurface drip irrigation opportunities within broadacre cropping.
You will turn existing market analysis into a practical market-development strategy, validate priority crops and regions, establish trials and partnerships, and build the commercial case for broader grower adoption.
Approximately 80% of the role will focus on market development, with the remaining 20% supporting wider regional agronomy requirements.
Your duties will include (but not be limited to):
This position will suit an agricultural professional who combines sound agronomic knowledge with the commercial capability and persistence required to establish a new market.
You will be comfortable working independently across a large territory, developing relationships from the ground up and moving between paddock-level agronomy, research partnerships and commercial discussions with growers and dealers.
To be considered for the role, you must be able to address the following criteria:
A tertiary qualification in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Horticulture or a related discipline is highly regarded, although strong practical industry experience may also be considered.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a genuine market-development project rather than inherit an established sales territory. You will have considerable autonomy to plan grower visits, trials, dealer engagement and industry activities.
Importantly, you will have access to international agronomy expertise, research and established broadacre irrigation experience while helping determine how that knowledge is applied within Australian farming systems.
In addition to the flexibility and scope of the position, other benefits include:
