Job summary

Cubic Defence Australia & NZ is seeking an experienced planning, training or simulation professional to support synthetic warfighting exercises aligned with Fleet Lethality priorities and Royal Australian Navy objectives.

You will integrate Live, Virtual and Constructive simulation approaches to deliver realistic, operationally relevant training outcomes, and engage with Navy and allied stakeholders to advance interoperability and capability development.

Qualifications

• Experience in Defence, maritime operations, exercise planning, simulation, or related field.
• Understanding of synthetic training environments and Live, Virtual and Constructive simulation concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess inputs and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and briefing skills.
• Ability to work autonomously under general direction and manage competing priorities.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain Defence security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and support synthetic warfighting exercises aligned with Fleet Lethality priorities and RAN training objectives.
• Integrate Live, Virtual and Constructive simulation approaches for realistic training outcomes.
• Analyse diverse inputs to develop innovative exercise and simulation solutions.
• Engage with Navy, joint and allied stakeholders to support interoperability.
• Provide expert advice on simulation technologies, methodologies, exercise design and training effectiveness.
• Support the preparation, conduct and review of exercise activities, including post-activity analysis and lessons learned.
• Report progress, risks and recommendations to senior leadership and contribute to strategic planning discussions.
