Job summary

Australian Department of Defence in Sydney is seeking multiple APS 6 Project Officers to support SEA1200 Uncrewed Maritime Warfare and Warfare Products. You will aid in acquisition, integration, delivery and sustainment of autonomous maritime systems, working with Defence, Navy and industry to deliver capability outcomes.

You will apply knowledge of project governance, legislative frameworks and Defence policy to manage priorities, engage stakeholders, and contribute to strategic project success

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support to project management and coordination requirements.
• Draft and prepare project documentation, briefs and reports including submissions for committee consideration.
• Collaborate with team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and communicate methodologies to achieve outcomes.
• Resolve problems using expertise and identify alternative actions.
• Engage Australian and international stakeholders to support MIWS objectives.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
• Oversee project financial reporting and day-to-day contract management.
• Develop and monitor project budget controls and strategies.
• Contribute to team capability and compliance with policies.
