Job summary

Haskoning Newcastle is seeking a Maritime Engineer – Structures to design and inspect coastal and maritime infrastructure across Australia and the Pacific. You will work with multidisciplinary teams on projects ranging from wharves to navigation aids.

You bring a Civil/Structural degree, chartership or progress toward it, 4–8 years of maritime project experience, and proficiency in SpaceGass, STAAD.Pro or Tekla Tedds. Travel locally and regionally as required.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a specialization or strong background in maritime structures.
• Chartered engineer or working towards chartership.
• Minimum 4–8 years of relevant experience in design and delivery of maritime infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in structural engineering software such as SpaceGass, STAAD.Pro, and/or Tekla Tedds.
• Experience with technical reporting, structural inspections, and construction support activities.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to travel locally, interstate, and internationally when required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver concept and detailed designs for maritime structures such as wharves, jetties, quay walls, seawalls, pile structures, waterfront developments and navigation aids.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, design documentation and feasibility studies.
• Support the development of construction documentation, specifications and Bills of Quantities.
• Conduct structural inspections and provide technical advice during the design and construction phases.
• Manage small projects, coordinate design activities and contribute to client relationships and business development opportunities.
