Job summary

Kinexus Australia is seeking a Project Estimator in Yamba, NSW. You will develop detailed estimates for vessel builds and service projects, working with engineering, production and procurement to ensure accurate commercial data throughout tender to construction.

The role emphasises evidence-based estimating, requiring interpretation of drawings and BOMs, with integration of labour, materials, subcontractors and overheads. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, cost planning, contracts or related commercial function.
• Strong numerical and analytical capability.
• Experience developing spreadsheet-based cost/pricing models.
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and bills of material.
• Good written communication skills and document control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for vessel builds, refits, variations and service projects.
• Develop estimates covering labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, freight, overheads and contingency.
• Review drawings and BOMs to determine project costs.
• Validate labour hours and build assumptions with engineering/production teams.
• Obtain and assess supplier/subcontractor pricing.
• Maintain cost libraries and historical pricing.
• Support tender submissions and pricing schedules.
• Maintain accurate estimating records across tender to project lifecycle.
