Job summary

Journey Beyond is seeking a Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 (MED II) for Island Connections NT. You will work with the Vessel Master and maintenance teams to keep vessels safe, reliable and ready for journeys around Darwin, Mandorah and Tiwi Islands.

The role focuses on hands-on engine work, safety leadership, and delivering excellent guest service in a fast-paced ferry environment. A pre-employment medical and police check may be required.

Qualifications

• Driver's license and marine certifications required.
• Proven experience in marine engineering and maintenance.
• Experience with safety procedures and maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor engines and machinery to ensure safe voyage operations.
• Complete daily logs and promptly report defects.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance, repairs, docking and bunkering tasks.
• Keep maintenance records up to date and accurate.
• Maintain a clean, safe engine room and organized stores.
• Participate in safety drills, risk assessments and emergencies.
• Support passenger safety and comfortable embarkations and disembarkations.
• Offer professional guest service and assist across vessel operations.
