Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 or Grade 2 - Casual

SeaLink QLD is looking for a Casual Vessel Marine Engineer MED 1 or MED 2 to join our operations as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will be rostered on Vessel Engineering shifts. The Vessel Engineer is to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of vessel equipment and machinery including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, refrigeration, ventilation, sullage, air conditioning, safety, and emergency systems.

Working in close conjunction with all crew, duties will include:

  • The Re-fueling of the vessel in a safe manner
  • Assist Master in conducting safety drills
  • Daily checks and maintenance
  • Complete daily Engineering log and report defects
  • Assist with the safe, efficient, and timely boarding and disembarkation of all passengers.
  • Assist with cleaning duties at the end of shift

About You

Able to perform under pressure, excellent interpersonal skills, good troubleshooting skills, strong work ethics and 'Can Do' Attitude, able to work flexible hours, and be well presented at all times.

  • Marine Engine Driver grade I (one) or 2 (Two) NC
  • Solid mechanical background with Caterpillar engine experience
  • Knowledge of safety and maritime obligations
  • Senior First Aid and Resuscitation Qualification
  • Driver's License
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
  • Proven track record of excellent customer service
  • Experience in the tourism industry
