Job summary

Bunnings is seeking an Equipment Specialist for our Minto manufacturing site. You will maintain, service and repair production equipment such as saws, presses, conveyors and automated systems, ensuring safety and reliability across our Frame & Truss operations.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical trade qualification or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Hands-on industrial or production equipment maintenance experience.
• Capable across mechanical systems; electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems preferred.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Able to read technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and safe isolation procedures.
• Confident maintaining records in a maintenance system and MS Office.
• Current driver's licence.
• Physical capacity for hands-on maintenance work.
• Experience with PLC-controlled or automated equipment; timber/Frame & Truss operations valued; electrical licence, forklift licence or EWP ticket useful.

Responsibilities

• Plan and complete preventive maintenance, inspections and servicing.
• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automation faults.
• Prioritise repairs to safely return equipment to operation.
• Identify aging or worn components before failures.
• Support installation, relocation, commissioning and setup of machinery.
• Suggest practical improvements to reliability and life of equipment.
• Collaborate with manufacturers, technicians, contractors and parts suppliers.
• Manage critical spares and maintenance consumables.
• Keep clear maintenance records and servicing schedules.
• Share knowledge with operators to promote safe machinery use.
• Provide technical support to other Frame & Truss sites when required.
