Job summary

GHD is seeking a Manager of the Workplace Technology to join our Information Systems team, based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane. You will own the strategy and daily experience for end-user computing and digital workspaces across geographies.

Reporting to the CTO, you will lead three teams, drive Copilot adoption, and shape a three-year AI-enabled roadmap while balancing security, cost governance and employee experience in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in end user computing at enterprise scale (10,000+ users, multi-geography).
• Proven track record leading Copilot or digital workplace transformation from strategy to deployment.
• Strong people leadership through change and operational delivery.
• Certifications: Microsoft MD-102 and MS-102 or equivalent; AZ-140 and Copilot/AI cert desirable.

• Own end-user compute strategy and a three-year roadmap toward AI-augmented, agent-enabled working.
• Lead and grow three sub-teams across geographies; stand up Digital Workspaces & Collaboration function.
• Drive M365 Copilot enterprise adoption and move toward process redesign.
• Establish a digital employee experience (DEX) measurement framework and continually improve UX.
• Manage device lifecycle, Azure Virtual Desktop and Nerdio estate, cost governance.
• Prepare GHD’s environment for AI agents; partner with Cyber and Platform on workspace security.
• Represent the digital workplace at the IS Leadership Team and collaborate with Microsoft on Copilot/Windows AI roadmap.

We’re looking for a Manager of the Workplace Technology to join our Information Systems team, based in either Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.

As Manager - Workplace Technology, you will own both the strategy and the daily quality of the technology experience for every person at GHD. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer with a seat at the IS Leadership Team, you will lead three teams (Device Management; Cloud Compute & Virtual Environments; and a new Digital Workspaces & Collaboration function you will help build) and steer GHD along Microsoft’s three-mode journey: from Chat, to Cowork, to Digital Workers. This is a build-and-transform role for someone who wants to shape what comes next, not maintain the status quo.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Owning GHD’s end user compute and digital workspace strategy and a three-year roadmap toward AI-augmented, agent-enabled working.
• Leading and growing three sub-teams across multiple geographies, and stand up the new Digital Workspaces & Collaboration function as a first priority.
• Driving M365 Copilot enterprise adoption, moving from persona acceleration to genuine process redesign.
• Establishing a digital employee experience (DEX) measurement framework and continuously improve the daily technology experience.
• Managing the device lifecycle, the Azure Virtual Desktop and Nerdio estate, and end user compute cost governance.
• Readying GHD’s environment for AI agents and non-human identities, partnering with Cyber and Platform on workspace security.
• Representing the digital workplace at the IS Leadership Team and partner with Microsoft on the Copilot and Windows AI roadmap.

What you will bring to the team:

• 10+ years in end user computing at enterprise scale (10,000+ users, multi-geography), ideally within global professional services or engineering.
• Deep expertise across device lifecycle (Windows, macOS, mobile, BYOD), VDI/DaaS (Azure Virtual Desktop, Nerdio) and M365 administration (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, Intune, Entra ID).
• A track record of leading Copilot or digital workplace transformation, from strategy through deployment to measured adoption.
• Experience building or running a DEX measurement programme, and strong people leadership through change.
• Commercial acumen to frame technology in terms of productivity, cost per user and business enablement.
• Genuine curiosity and daily, hands‑on use of AI tools: you lead the change by living it.
• Certifications: Microsoft MD-102 and MS-102 or equivalent (required); AZ-140 and a Copilot or AI-related certification (desirable).
