Job summary

Value NSW (VNSW) is seeking a Manager Valuation Business Processing to lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of business processes that support valuation products and services across Value NSW. You will drive operational excellence and governance, strengthening coordination with teams and stakeholders.

The NSW office is negotiable with flexible working and a hybrid model between office, road and home.

Qualifications

  • Experience in business process management, product management or operational service delivery within a complex environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement practical solutions.
  • Experience managing financial administration, reporting requirements, business controls and governance processes.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and business improvement initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with ability to build productive relationships across diverse groups.

  • 3 year full-time fixed term opportunity until 29 June 2029
  • NSW office location negotiable with flexible working supported
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $133,348 to $146,945 plus superannuation

About the role

In this role, you will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of business processes that support valuation products and services across Value NSW. Working closely with teams across the organisation, you will drive operational excellence, strengthen coordination and administration practices, and identify opportunities to improve service delivery for customers and stakeholders.

You will oversee business process management, financial administration and reporting activities while supporting strategic and operational decision-making. The role plays a key part in ensuring valuation products and services are delivered efficiently, consistently and in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

About Us

The Valuer General is an independent statutory officer, appointed by the Governor of New South Wales to oversee the State's land valuation system.

Value NSW (VNSW), part of the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure delivers the valuation system for rating and taxing as well as compulsory acquisition compensation purposes via delegation of the Valuer General of NSW. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Making more than 2.7 million residential, rural, commercial and industrial valuations annually, with a total value of approximately $3 trillion as well as managing compulsory acquisition determinations in situations where government cannot reach agreement, totalling over $1 billion per annum
  • Delivering customer services and experience for 2.7 million landholders per annum – receiving up to 50,000 calls and many more enquiries
  • Monitoring, assurance and governance pertaining to the quality of the valuations undertaken relevant to both the Valuation of Land Act 1916 and the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.

In addition, VNSW provides other specialised valuation activities, services and determinations for other cluster or statewide government partners – including being responsible for the delivery of all valuations for government property transactions as defined by the Government Property Framework and Treasurer’s Directions as well as more than $84 billion in government asset valuations for financial accounting purposes.
