North West Hospital and Health Service seeks a Manager, Alcohol and Other Drug Services to lead a diverse portfolio across MHAOD in North West Queensland. You will oversee strategic and operational directions, governance, and workforce development while fostering innovative care models for individuals, families, and communities.

Leading multidisciplinary teams, you will drive excellence in service delivery and ensure high-quality outcomes in remote settings.

Qualifications

• Mandatory relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
• Psychologists: eligible for APHRA - Psychology Board.
• Social Workers: eligible for membership to AASSW.
• Working with Children Check may be required.

About the roleAs the Manager, Alcohol and Other Drug Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of specialist services within the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (MHAOD).Leading multidisciplinary teams, you will drive service excellence, clinical governance, workforce development, and innovative models of care that support individuals, families, and communities across North West Queensland.Working with usEligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum, resulting in a total of six days professional development leave per annum.Eligible health practitioners working in designated remote areas will be entitled to a professional development allowance of $3,512.00 per annum.Rural and Remote incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 p.f.Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.RequirementsMandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.Psychologists: Mandatory possession of a tertiary degree in Psychology and eligible for current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) - Psychology Board.Social Workers: Mandatory possession of a tertiary degree in Social Work providing eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers is required.Social Workers: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.Occupational Therapists: Mandatory possession of a degree in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for current registration (APHRA) - Occupational Therapist Board.C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.A period of probation may apply.About North West Hospital and Health ServiceThe North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) delivers public health services across approximately 300,000 square kilometres, supporting remote communities throughout North Western Queensland and the Gulf of Carpentaria.
