Job summary

HCF is seeking a Manager, Risk Assurance - Technology, Data & AI to strengthen how technology, data and AI risk are identified, managed and controlled. You will lead Line 2 assurance programs, assess controls, governance and regulatory obligations, and provide pragmatic recommendations to senior leaders.

The role offers the chance to shape assurance frameworks within a highly regulated environment and to collaborate across diverse teams while advancing risk management capabilities at HCF.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise across technology, data and AI risk management within a regulated environment.
• Experience in risk assurance, controls assurance, internal audit or a related risk discipline.
• Strong understanding of risk frameworks, governance processes and control assessment methodologies.
• Experience leading assurance reviews and providing independent risk insights and recommendations.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into practical business outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leaders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and meaningful assurance reporting.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or professional certifications in risk, audit, technology or a related discipline.

Manager, Risk Assurance - Technology, Data & AI

Join a growing Risk Assurance function and help strengthen how HCF manages technology, data and AI risk.

This role is responsible for delivering HCF's Line 2 Risk Assurance program, providing independent assurance that technology, data and AI risks are effectively identified, managed and controlled across the organisation.

Leading assurance reviews across technology, data and AI risk domains, the position assesses control effectiveness, governance arrangements and compliance with regulatory obligations. Through practical, risk-based recommendations and trusted stakeholder engagement, the role provides independent challenge while supporting stronger risk outcomes across the business.

As the Risk Assurance function continues to mature, this position will contribute to the development of assurance frameworks, methodologies and practices that strengthen risk management and support HCF's regulatory obligations. Operating across a diverse portfolio of assurance activities, the role offers the opportunity to influence emerging approaches to technology, data and AI risk assurance within a complex and highly regulated environment.

About You

An experienced risk assurance, controls assurance or internal audit professional, with expertise across technology, data and AI risks in a regulated environment.

You’ll bring a strong understanding of technology, AI and data governance, risk and compliance requirements, with the ability to challenge assumptions, evaluate the effectiveness of controls and risk management practices, and provide pragmatic assurance over key technology and data risk exposures.

Beyond technical expertise, the role calls for someone who can build trusted relationships, engage senior stakeholders and balance independent challenge with a collaborative approach. Equally important is a genuine interest in emerging technology, data and AI risks, combined with the curiosity and initiative needed to contribute to a growing and evolving function.
