About The Role

The Resources Regulator (part of NSW Resources) is seeking a dynamic leader with proven experience in business improvement to manage the Risk and Compliance function within Mine Safety. This is a unique opportunity to influence regulatory practice and drive innovation across the mining sector.

  • Improvement & Projects: Leading the use of business improvement processes, tools and systems; developing a prioritised continuous improvement project pipeline; supporting automation and process optimisation; and maintaining project and change management records.
  • Data Analysis & Monitoring: Providing overarching governance on the integrity and completeness of Mine Safety data; analysing trends and finding ways to improve; developing KPIs and reports to guide strategic decisions.
  • Centralised Planning: Optimising resources through centralised planning; streamlining processes with data insights and prioritising emerging issues and proactive work.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with inspectors, leaders, and staff to implement practical improvements; facilitate workshops and training to build a culture of continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring
  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to regulatory programs, such as regulation & governance, legal, auditing, investigative studies etc.
  • A current driver’s licence combined with the ability and willingness to travel for ad hoc field work (including overnight stays).
  • Demonstrated operational and business improvement experience with a proven track record of delivering improvement initiatives.
  • Experience leading change programs, managing stakeholders and work-streams
  • Mining experience is a plus, but not essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and business intelligence tools (knowledge of machine learning would be ideal).
