Job summary

Aware Super, one of Australia's largest profit-for-members superannuation funds, seeks a Manager, Regulatory Engagement & Change to shape regulatory change management, regulator engagement, and enterprise communication of developments. This 12-month parental leave cover role is based in Sydney or Melbourne with a hybrid work model.

The role requires 4+ years in regulatory compliance/change within financial services; governance and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in compliance, regulatory affairs or regulatory change within financial services.
• Strong analytical ability to translate regulatory developments into practical business outcomes.
• Excellent written, verbal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with process improvement, governance or operating model design.
• Law background is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the evolution of Aware's regulatory change management framework, operating model, governance arrangements and supporting processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve how regulatory change is managed, communicated and embedded across the enterprise.
• Facilitate workshops and structured stakeholder engagement activities to understand business needs and co-design future state solutions.
• Bring external perspectives and industry practices to support improvements in regulatory change management.
• Support enhancements to regulatory change processes, tools, reporting, communications and governance.
• Explore opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve regulatory change management and efficiency.
• Maintain strong relationships with regulators by supporting the Senior Manager, Regulatory Strategy and Regulatory Affairs Leads.

Your New Role

We're looking for a Manager, Regulatory Engagement & Change to play a key role in shaping how Aware manages regulatory change, engages with regulators, and communicates regulatory developments across the enterprise. This is a unique opportunity for a regulatory, compliance or governance professional who enjoys driving continuous improvement, influencing stakeholders, and delivering practical solutions in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and/or contribute to the ongoing evolution of Aware's regulatory change management framework, operating model, governance arrangements and supporting processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve how regulatory change is managed, communicated and embedded across the enterprise.
• Facilitate workshops and structured stakeholder engagement activities to understand business needs, challenge existing approaches and co-design future state solutions.
• Bring external perspectives, industry practices and innovative thinking to support the continuous improvement of regulatory change management at Aware.
• Support the research, design, testing and implementation of enhancements to regulatory change processes, tools, reporting, communications and governance.
• Explore and assess opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation, to improve regulatory change management, stakeholder engagement, communications, reporting and operational efficiency.
• Ensure that strong relationships are appropriately managed with regulators by supporting the Senior Manager, Regulatory Strategy and Regulatory Affairs Leads.

How do you exceed our expectations?

• 4+ years' experience in compliance, regulatory affairs or regulatory change within financial services; superannuation and/or investment experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of regulatory, legislative and compliance requirements, with the ability to analyse complex developments and translate them into practical business outcomes.
• Excellent written, verbal and stakeholder engagement skills, including workshop facilitation, influencing and communicating with diverse audiences.
• Strong strategic thinking and enterprise perspective, with the ability to identify impacts, interdependencies and opportunities arising from regulatory developments and change initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience in process improvement, business transformation, governance or operating model design, with the ability to drive meaningful change.
• A background/tertiary qualifications in Law would be advantageous.
