Job summary

Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) seeks a Manager of Security to provide high‑level operational leadership for management in small to large correctional centres across NSW. You will coordinate day‑to‑day security, inmate services and staff discipline, and you may lead special projects within DCJ.

Essential requirements include a valid NSW driving licence, willingness to travel, compliance with relevant heavy vehicle laws, on‑call availability, and proven leadership in high‑pressure

Qualifications

• Experience demonstrating ability to meet key accountabilities and focus capabilities described for the role.
• Current and valid driving licence with willingness to travel within NSW.
• Compliance with National Heavy Vehicle Law and Regulations and Chain of Responsibility policies (CESU roles only).
• Availability to be on call at set times to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level operational leadership and direction for management in correctional centres, coordinating the day-to-day operations and security.
• Lead staff, ensure effective security and inmate-related services, and maintain staff discipline across facilities.
• Oversee special projects or specialised services within Corrective Services NSW as required.

Job description

• Location: Statewide Talent Pool creation to fill future ongoing and temporary roles statewide
• Salary: $201,606.00 pa + Superannuation + Leave Loading

Your Role

The Manager of Security provides high level operational leadership and direction for management in small, medium and large correctional centres, this includes the coordination of the purposeful day, effective provision of security, inmate related services and ensuring the maintenance of staff discipline. Manager of Security roles also lead and direct special projects or specialised services within Corrective Services NSW.
