Job summary

The Shire of Broome is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager Major Projects to lead planning, procurement and governance of the Council's major capital works. Reporting to the Director Infrastructure, you will deliver significant infrastructure projects on time, within budget and to approved quality standards.

You will have substantial project management experience on complex infrastructure programs, tertiary qualifications in project management or engineering, and formal PM certification.

About the Position:

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, experienced and qualified candidate to join the Shire of Broome in the role of Manager Major Projects.

Reporting to the Director Infrastructure, this role is responsible for delivering significant infrastructure projects safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with approved quality standards, statutory requirements and stakeholder expectations.

This role will l ead the planning, procurement, delivery and governance of the Council's major capital works and strategic infrastructure projects to achieve community, economic and organisational objectives

As our preferred candidate you will have significant project management experience, working on complex infrastructure projects and substantial capital works programs. You will ideally have tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, construction management or a related discipline, with formal project management certification.

Highly effective contract administration skills, sound problem solving and decision-making skills as well as excellent financial and budget management skills are also a must.

• Base salary range between $145,000-$165,000 per annum (depending on qualifications, skills and experience).
