Job summary

University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is seeking a Manager, Government Reporting to lead the statutory reporting of student data to the Commonwealth Department of Education and secure compliant, timely outputs from the student information system. You will oversee staffing, prioritise concurrent reporting tasks and ensure near real-time data integrity across multiple streams.

Qualifications

• Outstanding verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding stakeholder management with ability to influence and collaborate.
• Experience interpreting complex legislation and operationalising requirements.
• Experience managing a team in a complex technical environment with limited resources.
• Demonstrated understanding of the higher education sector and its business processes.
• Excellent time, organisation and project management skills, including developing plans and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Government Reporting team responsible for statutory reporting of student data to the Department of Education.
• Ensure timely, accurate reporting outputs in near real-time, with error-handling processes.
• Maintain collaboration with stakeholder teams to capture and record student data correctly.
• Implement new legislative requirements in the student management system and stay current on sector requirements.
• Liaise with the Department of Education and vendors to ensure compliance and best practices.
