Victoria Legal Aid is seeking a Manager to lead and grow our First Peoples Legal Helpline (1300 MOB) in Melbourne. The role partners with VALS and Djirra to improve access to legal help for First Peoples, ensuring culturally safe services and strong stakeholder relationships.

The position based in Melbourne CBD on Wurundjeri Country is a special measures role for Australian First Peoples. It offers a full-time ongoing contract with a competitive salary and flexible hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Victorian First Peoples communities and understanding cultural protocols.
• Ability to lead culturally safe practice and build respectful partnerships.
• Experience driving service innovation and growth in public sector settings.
• Strong reporting, governance, and program leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the First Peoples services (1300 MOB and Yarn Online).
• Build and maintain relationships with VALS, Djirra and other key stakeholders.
• Promote culturally safe practice and monitor outcomes for First Peoples clients.
• Report on service performance and contribute to policy and program improvements.
