K92 Mining Inc. is seeking a Finance Manager – Australia to lead the Brisbane finance team and own the Australian entity's accounting.

The role involves close collaboration with Vancouver and PNG sites, oversight of Australian tax and payroll compliance, and a focus on building a growing Brisbane finance function. Based in Brisbane, you will travel to the Kainantu mine site and manage intercompany accounting, statutory filings, and expatriate payroll.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance with a CA or CPA designation.
• Experience leading a finance function and team (10+ years) are highly regarded.
• Strong technical accounting skills, ideally in mining, and knowledge of Australian tax and payroll compliance.

Responsabilités

• Own the month-end close and monthly reporting for the Australian entity, including P&L and cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare the annual Australian financial statements and manage the external audit.
• Review PNG consolidation workbook and lead accounting for PNG capital items and fixed assets.
• Review monthly PNG submissions and travel to the Kainantu site.
• Manage Australian tax and statutory compliance with external advisors (BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax, superannuation, STP, WorkCover, ASIC).
• Approve payment runs, payroll, and intercompany settlements in ANZ Transactive with dual authorization.
• Lead Australian payroll and PNG expatriate payroll processing from Brisbane, including tax treatment.
• Oversee Brisbane AP foreign payments for PNG operations and Brisbane office lease.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations with PNG, Canada, and BVI.

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager - Australia to lead our growing Brisbane finance team. Based in Brisbane and reporting to the Director of Finance, this role owns the finance function of K92 Mining (Australia) Pty Ltd and takes a leading role in the accounting for our PNG operating entity. The role also oversees the Brisbane-based AP foreign payments team and supports expatriate payroll for our PNG site. You will work closely with the Vancouver corporate office, the Kainantu site finance team and external advisors, and travel to the Kainantu mine site is expected.

You will be a hands-on, self-motivated CA or CPA with strong technical accounting, ideally in mining, a solid grounding in Australian tax and payroll compliance, treasury and intercompany accounting, and the confidence to engage with senior management, auditors and advisors. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a key regional finance role, build and lead a growing team and contribute to the success of an expanding international mining company.

Key / Major Accountabilities

• Own the month-end close and monthly reporting for the Australian entity, including the P&L report and cash flow forecast to the Vancouver corporate office.
• Prepare the annual Australian financial statements and manage the external audit.
• Own the review of the quarterly PNG consolidation-support workbook and lead the accounting for PNG capital (CWIP, transfers and commissioning, capitalized development and the fixed asset register), resolving queries with the site finance team.
• Review monthly PNG submissions (cost report, GL reconciliations and supporting schedules) and travel to the Kainantu site.
• Manage Australian tax and statutory compliance with external advisors, including the income tax return, BAS, FBT, payroll tax, superannuation, STP, WorkCover and ASIC filings.
• Review and release payment runs, payroll and intercompany settlements in ANZ Transactive under dual authorization, and manage banking relationships, term deposits and bank guarantees.
• Lead the monthly Australian payroll and review and release the PNG expatriate payroll processed from Brisbane, including PSU and RSU settlements and their tax treatment.
• Oversee the Brisbane AP foreign payments team processing foreign-currency supplier payments for the PNG operation, together with Australian accounts payable and the Brisbane office lease.
• Own the monthly intercompany reconciliations with PNG, Canada and BVI, including technical service fee invoices and recharges.
• Lead the annual budget and forecasts for the Australian entity and Brisbane cost centres.
• Lead, develop and review the work of the growing Brisbane finance team
  

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have a have tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance as well as a CA or CPA designation. In addition to this, you will also have some or all of the following;

• 10+ years in finance or accounting roles, including experience leading a finance function and team; public practice and mining or resources experience highly regarded.
• Strong technical accounting skills, ideally in mining (property, plant and equipment and CWIP, capitalized development, inventory and cost of sales, leases and revenue).
• Strong working knowledge of Australian tax and payroll compliance (income tax, BAS and GST, FBT, payroll tax, superannuation, STP).
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency groups, intercompany accounting and foreign subsidiaries.
• Willingness and ability to travel to Papua New Guinea; experience in PNG or other remote or developing locations is an asset.
• Advanced Excel and experience with accounting and ERP systems; QuickBooks Online, Pronto or SAP SuccessFactors experience is an asset.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
