Job summary

Brigalow Natural Capital within Gunn Agri Partners is seeking an Environmental Projects Manager to drive high-integrity environmental market projects across its farming platforms.

You will identify, develop and deliver carbon, biodiversity and renewable energy initiatives, partnering with property managers, farm teams, consultants and the Natural Capital team to turn opportunities into practical, commercially sound projects.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, Natural Resources or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Australian agricultural production systems, particularly mixed farming, livestock and/or cropping.
• Experience in natural capital, sustainability, land development or related field.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with data and reports.
• Understanding of policy and regulatory frameworks relevant to land management and environmental markets.

Responsibilities

Gunn Agri Partners (GAP) is an agricultural investment and farm management business established in 2013, providing investment and management services to Australian, North American and European investors.

With $1.3B of assets and commitments, GAP oversees a diverse portfolio of agricultural platforms spanning cattle, cropping, permanent horticulture, natural capital and environmental projects across Australia.

We are now seeking an Environmental Projects Manager to join our Brigalow Natural Capital team and support the delivery of high-integrity environmental projects across our farming platforms.

This is an opportunity to combine your agricultural knowledge, environmental expertise and project management skills to deliver practical projects that create value for both our farming operations and natural capital outcomes.

About the Role

Reporting to the Environmental Projects Senior Manager, you will support the identification, development and delivery of environmental market projects across GAP's portfolio, including carbon, biodiversity and, where relevant, renewable energy projects.

Working closely with our Natural Capital, Asset Management and Platform teams, you will help turn environmental opportunities into practical, commercially sound projects that can be successfully implemented within real farming environments.

You will work across both strategic planning and practical project delivery, partnering with property managers, farm teams, consultants, contractors and technical specialists.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high-integrity environmental projects across mixed farming, livestock and cropping systems.
• Contribute to project plans, budgets, milestones and work programs.
• Support the identification and implementation of environmental market opportunities.
• Ensure projects are technically robust and aligned with relevant methods, regulations and ongoing reporting requirements.
• Work with technical specialists to support field, mapping, monitoring and reporting activities.

Agricultural & Commercial Management

• Work closely with farming platforms to ensure project delivery aligns with seasonal conditions, production priorities and operational requirements.
• Support business cases, budgeting, procurement and contractor engagement.
• Identify practical improvements that enhance farm productivity, land capability, natural capital outcomes and long-term asset value.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

• Build strong working relationships with property managers, farm staff, the Asset Management team, consultants and contractors.
• Communicate project requirements, milestones and issues clearly across internal and external stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with the Lead Ecologist, Geospatial & MRV Manager, Asset Platform teams, and broader Natural Capital team.
• Support timely issue resolution and effective project delivery.

Compliance & Reporting

• Maintain accurate project data, budgets, schedules and records.
• Support compliance with environmental project methodologies and reporting requirements.
• Contribute to accurate project and portfolio reporting.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, systems and processes.
• Contribute to innovation and best practice across agricultural project execution and natural capital project development.
• Support the development of efficient systems and processes that strengthen commercial discipline and project outcomes.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong agricultural understanding with environmental or natural capital experience and enjoys working at the intersection of agriculture, sustainability and commercial project delivery.

You will ideally have:

• A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, Natural Resources or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Australian agricultural production systems, particularly mixed farming, livestock and/or cropping.
• Practical understanding of farm operations and the ability to work credibly with property managers, farm staff, agronomists and service providers.
• Experience in natural capital, sustainability, land development, infrastructure, environmental projects, farm improvement projects or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data, technical information and written reports.
• An understanding of policy and regulatory frameworks relevant to land management, the ACCU scheme and environmental markets.
• GIS & ecological field skills are highly regarded.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and report-writing skills.
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation and time-management skills.
