Job summary

Capstone Recruitment is partnering with a nationally significant public sector infrastructure authority to appoint a Manager, Environment and Planning. You will provide high-level technical advice and lead environmental planning activities that underpin major transport infrastructure delivery from the ground up.

Based in Newcastle, NSW, you will coordinate assessment workstreams, review approvals, and work with government agencies and delivery partners to drive sustainable environmental outcomes.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Commonwealth and State environmental and planning legislation.
• Experience with statutory approvals processes for major infrastructure.
• Ability to coordinate complex workstreams and engage diverse stakeholders.
• Understanding of climate risk and resilience in large-scale projects.

Working closely with government agencies, advisers and delivery partners, you will coordinate environmental assessment workstreams and specialist inputs, and support project teams to identify and manage environmental risks through planning, design and delivery.

About you

You are an experienced environmental planning professional who brings sound professional judgement across environmental planning and key technical disciplines. You will have:

• In-depth knowledge of Commonwealth and State environmental and planning legislation, statutory approvals frameworks and regulatory processes relevant to major infrastructure programs.
• A strong understanding of contemporary environmental assessment practices.
• Knowledge of sustainability principles, climate risk and resilience in large-scale infrastructure delivery.
• Proven ability to coordinate complex workstreams and engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
