Aurecon Group is seeking a Manager - Energy Advisory in Australia to lead complex engagements, shaping energy strategy and investment decisions for major clients. You will coordinate cross-functional teams and deliver clear, actionable insights across energy advisory offerings.

The role requires deep knowledge of energy markets, strong modelling capabilities and proven client leadership in a consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, commerce, science, economics, public policy or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Australian energy markets, power systems and investment drivers.
• Experience building techno-economic models using Excel, Python or equivalent.
• Experience assessing power supply solutions for major energy users or projects.
• Ability to translate complex analysis into practical insights for clients and senior decision-makers.
• Experience leading advisory engagements, proposals, and stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborative leadership style to coach and develop others.

Responsibilities

• Lead energy market and techno-economic modelling engagements from problem definition to clear recommendations.
• Design and oversee models for grid-connected, behind-the-meter, hybrid and off-grid power supply solutions.
• Bring together technical, commercial and market insights to assess options, risks and investment decisions.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to technical due diligence, energy strategy, electrification and decarbonisation projects across Energy Advisory.
• Shape proposals, identify opportunities and build long-term client relationships.
• Coach and develop junior team members within a collaborative culture.

What you'll do

As a Manager - Energy Advisory in our Infrastructure & Energy Advisory team, based in one of our major Australian offices, you'll lead complex advisory engagements that help clients navigate the changing energy market and make informed decisions about how energy is supplied, priced and secured.

• Lead energy market and techno-economic modelling engagements, from defining the problem through to delivering clear recommendations
• Design and oversee models for grid-connected, behind-the-meter, hybrid and off-grid power supply solutions
• Bring together technical, commercial and market insights to help clients assess options, risks and investment decisions
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships and communicate complex findings clearly to senior stakeholders
• Contribute to technical due diligence, energy strategy, electrification and decarbonisation projects and regulatory & policy advice across the wider Energy Advisory offering
• Shape proposals, identify future opportunities and build trusted, long-term client relationships
• Coach and develop junior team members, while supporting a collaborative and inclusive team culture

What you'll bring

• A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, commerce, science, economics, public policy or a related discipline
• Strong knowledge of Australian energy markets, power systems and the factors shaping energy and infrastructure investment
• Demonstrated experience building and applying techno-economic models, using tools such as Excel, Python or equivalent modelling software
• Experience assessing power supply solutions for major energy users, generation projects or emerging industries
• The ability to translate complex analysis into practical, persuasive insights for clients and senior decision-makers while working effectively across disciplines
• Experience leading advisory or consulting engagements, including proposals, project delivery and stakeholder relationships
• A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to guide, coach and develop others.
