Why this Role?
As Manager You Will:
- Lead and manage projects in the implementation of a broad range of critical portfolios which have a direct impact on how schools support students from CALD backgrounds.
- Manage procurement processes and contract management to secure products and services to support students from CALD backgrounds.
- Lead statewide planning and implementation of Schools & Student Support priorities, to align outcomes to the department's agenda for improvement in schools.
- Provide high-level strategic advice to senior officers of the department and other key stakeholders on issues relevant to supporting students from CALD backgrounds.
- Build effective relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of Schools & Student Support priorities for all students in state schools.
- Prepare briefs, policy advice, procurement documents, correspondence and communication plans associated with priority projects and commitments for the Minister, senior departmental officers, government agencies and other entities on issues related to supporting students from CALD backgrounds.
About You
The ideal applicant will possess:
- Demonstrated experience managing projects (experience managing projects at a state-wide level highly desirable) and the ability to lead procurement processes in line with departmental policies and procedures;
- A track record in achieving high levels of productivity autonomously, in complex, sensitive or high-pressure environments;
- Well-developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills to drive innovative solutions to complex challenges to support the department's strategic focus;
- Exceptional written and interpersonal communication, with an ability to consult and negotiate persuasively on strategic policy issues and facilitate stakeholder meetings and briefings to senior management;
- Ability to apply whole-of-government perspectives; and
- Strong understanding of factors influencing CALD students/inclusive education, and of best-practice approaches and interventions that can be implemented in schools to support CALD students.
