Yass Valley Council is seeking an experienced Manager Community and Engagement to guide the Community & Engagement team through growth and opportunities. This fixed-term maternity leave role leads a high-performing team, shaping how the council listens to and responds to its community.

You will deliver strategic engagement programmes, mentor staff, and drive innovative communication strategies to strengthen trust and positive community outcomes.

• Experience in local government, communications, community engagement, or related field.
• Proven ability to lead teams and deliver results.
• Excellent stakeholder relationship management.

Yass Valley Council is seeking an experienced and innovative Manager Community and Engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how Council listens to, connects with and responds to its community, ensuring community voices inform decisions, policies, strategies and service delivery.

Working as part of Council’s leadership team, you will provide strategic direction, inspire a high-performing team and champion best-practice engagement that builds trust, strengthens relationships and delivers positive outcomes for our diverse community.

About you

You may come from a background in local government, communications, community engagement, tourism, destination marketing, public affairs or a related field.
