Job summary

atWork Australia is seeking an experienced Manager, Business Intelligence to lead our BI function and advance smarter decision-making across a national organisation.

This 12-month contract offers a unique blend of leadership, commercial insight, and technical delivery to drive high-impact reporting, analytics, and data solutions that influence executive decisions and business performance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in BI, analytics, or data management leadership roles.
• Strong Power BI development experience including DAX and dashboard design.
• Advanced SQL and data modelling capabilities.
• Experience working with Databricks and modern data platforms.
• Proven people leadership experience, including building high-performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management with executive influence.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Customer-focused mindset balancing strategic thinking with delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the BI function across atWork Australia, managing a team of 5 direct reports.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Drive data quality, governance and a single source of truth.
• Partner with Finance, Operations and Executives to support commercial outcomes.
• Lead forecasting, budgeting and performance analysis activities.
• Prioritise BI initiatives and manage competing business requirements.
• Provide advanced analytics and insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Mentor and develop BI team members while fostering a customer-focused culture.
• Support ongoing innovation, process improvement and data maturity across the business.

Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Manager, Business Intelligence to lead our BI function and help drive smarter decision‑making across a national organisation.

This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership, commercial insight, and technical expertise to deliver high-impact reporting, analytics, and data solutions that influence executive decision‑making and business performance. Based in any atWork Australia location, this 12-month contract will play a critical role in supporting strategic initiatives and advancing our data capability.

You will:

• Lead the Business Intelligence function across atWork Australia leading a team of 5 direct reports.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions
• Drive data quality, governance, and a "single source of truth" approach
• Partner with Finance, Operations and Executive stakeholders to support commercial outcomes
• Lead forecasting, budgeting and performance analysis activities
• Prioritise BI initiatives and manage competing business requirements
• Provide advanced analytics and insights to support strategic decision‑making
• Mentor and develop BI team members while fostering a customer‑focused culture
• Support ongoing innovation, process improvement and data maturity across the business

Qualifications

We’re looking for a commercially minded BI leader who can translate complex data into meaningful business outcomes.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Extensive experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics or Data Management leadership roles
• Strong Power BI development experience, including DAX and dashboard design
• Advanced SQL and data modelling capabilities
• Experience working with Databricks and modern data platforms
• Proven people leadership experience, including leading and developing high‑performing teams
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at executive level
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills
• A customer‑focused mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational delivery
