Job summary

Moore Australia in Geelong seeks an experienced accounting professional to lead client service delivery across tax, accounting, and advisory work. You will manage workflow, budgets and client engagements, while delivering high-quality financial statements and tax outcomes for complex client structures.

The role requires CA/CPA or equivalent, CPD commitment, and strong experience with Xero/MYOB/QuickBooks. You will mentor mid-level staff and contribute to business development within the firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or similar undergraduate degree.
  • Professional certification – Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Strong exposure to accounting software including Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

  • Providing and reviewing a range of accounting and compliance services including:
  • Preparing complex income tax returns for diverse client entities (individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies).
  • Preparing full set of accounts and cash flow statements.
  • Reconciling client accounts and completing tax reconciliations.
  • Calculating deferred tax accounting and complex tax structures.
  • Providing consultancy, report writing, and handling client requests.
  • Overseeing workflow and budgeting for client engagements.
  • Monitoring accuracy and regulatory quality assurance.
  • Leading and developing mid-level team members and managing workloads.
  • Budgets, recoverability targets and debt collection monitoring.
  • Business development and nurturing client relationships.

Job Responsibilities

Client Service


  • Providing and reviewing a range of accounting and compliance services including:

    • Preparing and completing income tax returns for more complex client entities including individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies.

    • Preparing full set of accounts.

    • Preparing cash flow statements.

    • Reconciling client accounts.

    • Preparing and completing tax reconciliations.

    • Calculating deferred tax accounting.

    • Completing complex tax calculations and structuring



  • Providing consultancy advice, report writing and handling client requests.

  • Overseeing workflow and preparing budgets for client engagements.


Quality Assurance


  • Monitoring the accuracy of client work and ensuring regulatory quality assurance requirements are met.


Team Management


  • Managing, coordinating, and delegating client work (including overseeing workflow and preparing budgets) to team members with an appropriate level of capability to ensure team targets are met.

  • Resource and succession planning, recruitment, career development, conflict resolution, and performance enablement.

  • Active involvement in the training of mid-level experienced team members across the firm.


Budget Management


  • Setting and achieving targets for recoverability, monitoring billings, collections and debt recovery.


Workflow Management


  • Monitoring workflow, disseminating information internally and to clients, and advising directors of progress on current work.

  • Providing real time management reporting against established deadlines and budgets.


Business Development


  • Seek, identify, and act on new business and referral opportunities within the firm.

  • Continuing to build client relationships and networks while actively encouraging team members to do the same.

  • Attending and participating in industry and business activities external to the firm to raise the Moore Australia profile and attract clients to the business.

  • Preparing fee estimates and proposals for new and potential clients


Leadership


  • Contributing to the technical development and culture of the firm via voluntary involvement in programs, including but not limited to graduate recruitment, training, social commitments and peer group facilitation.

  • Actively identify new processes, systems and areas of technical development that aim to improve the firm’s performance.
