Job summary

BDO Brisbane is seeking an experienced Manager to lead our Audit team, delivering high-quality engagements for a diverse client base across industries. You will mentor junior staff, contribute to service line strategy, and identify risk and opportunities with clients.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated external audit experience in a professional services firm.
  • Experience leading and developing audit teams.
  • CA/CPA qualification.
  • Thorough understanding of financial statement areas.
  • Ability to identify risks of material misstatement and design audit tests.
  • Experience reviewing General Purpose accounts, including listed entities.
  • PCOAB experience will be highly regarded.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Full and unrestricted working rights within Australia.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, lead, and develop the Audit team to ensure successful completion and execution of assigned engagements across a range of complexity and scale
  • Service line management, including contribution to overall service line strategy and providing feedback and development to junior members of the team
  • Identify audit and engagement risks and contribute to the design of an appropriate audit approach for each assignment
  • Review working papers, audit queries, correspondence and reports prepared by the team to ensure compliance with audit plan, procedures, and appropriate quality of work
  • Lead and participate in technical audit and accounting matters
  • Liaise with clients and identify future opportunities

About the Role

We have an exciting Manager opportunity to join our Brisbane Audit team. BDO’s Audit practice is a major player within the local marketplace, auditing many of Australia’s leading public and private sector organisations across a diverse industry base. Our thriving audit practice works with and provides services to some of the most exciting, established and emerging companies. You will have the opportunity to work in a high performing team on a diverse client base with exposure to challenging work in a cross section of industries.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Manage, lead, and develop the Audit team to ensure successful completion and execution of assigned engagements across a range of complexity and scale
  • Service line management, including contribution to overall service line strategy and providing feedback and development to junior members of the team
  • Identify audit and engagement risks and contribute to the design of an appropriate audit approach for each assignment
