Employment Hero is seeking an Accountant to join our growing finance team in Australia. You will manage day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, journals and accruals, with exposure to inter‑company and FX transactions.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in a similar role and is pursuing CA/CPA, with a Finance or Accounting degree and NetSuite experience. You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced, scaling SaaS environment and work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Currently studying CA/CPA or planning to start.
• Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting or related field.
• Experience with NetSuite is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Reconcile daily bank accounts across global entities.
• Reconcile company credit cards and spend platforms.
• Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes.
• Prepare journal entries including prepayments, accruals, depreciation, intercompany transactions.
• Own the Fixed Assets Register.
• Complete month-end balance sheet reconciliations and resolve issues.
• Assist with external audits.
• Support Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and process improvements.
• Reconcile and analyse variances of Company Spends.

What might your days look like

As our Accountant, you’ll play a crucial role for Employment Hero. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and other accountants to manage all of our day-to-day accounting, including reconciliations, journals, and accruals. You will also have exposure to inter-company and FX transactions.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work at a fast pace. You will be responsible for running the day-to-day accounts while also maintaining compliance. We’re seeking a commercially-minded accountant with great critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities will include

• Reconciliation of daily bank accounts across all global entities
• Reconciliation of company credit cards and spend management platforms
• Supporting Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes
• Preparing journal entries including prepayments, accruals, depreciation, intercompany transactions
• Ownership of the Fixed Assets Register
• Completion of month end balance sheet reconciliations ensuring that all reconciliation issues are investigated and resolved
• Assist in the external audits
• Assisting the Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and involvement in standardising and optimising financial accounting processes
• Reconciliation and variance analysis of Company Spends

What Will You Bring

• At least 1 years’ worth of experience in a similar role
• Currently studying for CA/CPA qualification (or are looking to start this)
• Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
• Experience with NetSuite is highly advantageous
• Hungry, creative, enthusiastic, and data-driven with a diverse skill set
