Job summary

We are seeking a high-calibre Management Accountant to join a dynamic, commercially focused corporate advisory team based in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. This is a highly analytical role combining management accounting analysis with financial modelling, forecasting, commercial analysis and strategic decision support. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and key stakeholders, analysing financial information and business performance to support commercial, transactional and strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Analysing management accounts, financial statements and other financial information to assess business performance
• Reviewing profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow information and identifying key trends, drivers and variances
• Undertaking budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and cash flow analysis
• Reviewing cost structures and pricing assumptions embedded in financial models and business cases
• Building and maintaining detailed financial models and scenario analyses
• Conducting valuation and financial analysis of businesses and investment opportunities, including in connection with M&A and corporate advisory transactions
• Analysing historical and projected financial performance
• Undertaking detailed company, industry and market analysis, including benchmarking financial and operational performance against industry peers and comparable transactions
• Preparing financial analysis, reports and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders
• Supporting the assessment of strategic initiatives, investments and potential transactions
• Working with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and transaction counterparties, to obtain, assess and interpret financial and commercial information
• Identifying financial and operational trends and providing insights to support business decision-making
• Identifying opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of financial reporting and analysis

About you You will have a strong understanding of management accounting principles, combined with excellent analytical, modelling and commercial skills. The ideal candidate will have:

• A relevant degree in accounting, finance, economics, commerce or a related discipline
• A minimum of 3+ years' experience in a relevant role
• Strong understanding of financial statements and management accounts
• Excellent financial modelling and analytical capability
• Experience analysing financial performance, budgets, forecasts and cost structures
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with complex financial information
• The ability to analyse businesses, industries and investment opportunities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
